This is Noosa

I  have finally made it far enough south that I'm out of jellyfish territory. Staying at a hostel on the side of a lush hillside surrounded by very noisy parrots and extreemly ugly bush turkeys. Day is just starting and I am on holiday in a fantastically beautiful spot. It is "exclusive" too - it is like I'm in the Riviera with fancy resorts, classy shops, spendy restaurants all around. The beach is just a block away. Not sure what I will do today, ah, being on holiday means I don't have to do anything. Last night I made my first sighting of the Southern Cross - stars have been obsured by city lights and the moon up until now. I went down the beach towards Noosa Woods before the moon rose and did some star gazing until clouds coved them. I also learned on the internet how to locate the south pole. Now I truely feel like I am "down under". Took a ferry ride up the Noosa River, made a couple of stops to look into some galleries, had a cold beer. This has been the hottest day yet up in high 30's. Luckily the sea breeze came up in the afternoon. That and a jump in the waves keeps me cool. Here it is another day in paradise; took local bus up to Eumundi to see their markets held Wednesday and Saturday 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Large wooded area set up with booths - lots of crafts, produce, food, some music. Last night there was an Irish music jam at the hostel; seems  it happens a couple of times a month. A lively scene here on the terrace.
