Port Macquarie

Founded as a penal colony Port Macquarie is home to the Koala Hospital where they rehabilitate sick and wounded koalas. After trees/plants, koalas are about the easiest thing to draw. They sleep most of the time. After my experience of drawing human hands I found the koala with two opposing thumbs really disconcerting to draw. Check out the photo with one arm up and the other one hanging down. There is a big music festival going on by the beach and all the fancy high rise hotels and apartments on the bluff overlook and have to hear that booming base. Kind of glad I am in the low rent district. The Pacific ocean here in Australia is as dramatic and beautiful as California and Oregon. It just has so much more power than the Atlantic. I haven't been able to get a good picture yet as the brightness always causes the camera on my tablet to fail - it can't handle high contrast. Moving down the road to Port Stevens tomorrow morning.
